GREATER SUDBURY, September 14, 2015 – Starting September 28th, travelers will have more access available to them out of the Greater Sudbury Airport. Bearskin Airlines will add up to 23 new nonstop flights weekly between the Greater Sudbury Airport hub and Timmins, North Bay, Sault Ste Marie and Thunder Bay.
“Bearskin’s additional flights will increase connections and link many of Northern Ontario’s cities to Sudbury and we are pleased that Bearskin Airlines chose in 1992 to make the Greater Sudbury Airport their Northeastern Ontario Hub” said Shirley de Silva, Director of Business Development.
Bearskin Airline’s fare strategy has been evolving over the last 18 months with reductions up to 60% on Fixed Fares, followed by reductions on Flex Fares throughout the last 12 months and further reductions on its highest level Liberty Fares coinciding with increased service on September 28th.
The Sudbury Airport Community Development Corporation is a not-for-profit, non-share capital corporation that manages the Greater Sudbury Airport (YSB). The Greater Sudbury Airport is one of Northern Ontario’s busiest and is currently served by Air Canada, Bearskin Airlines, Porter Airlines, WestJet and Sunwing Airlines. Air Canada and WestJet offer daily flights to and from Toronto’s Pearson International Airport, which provide worldwide connections, while Porter Airlines offers daily service to and from downtown’s Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, which connects passengers to various Canadian and U.S. destinations. Regular scheduled flights provided by Bearskin Airlines offer air service to and from many Northeastern Ontario centres. Sunwing Airlines offers flights from Greater Sudbury to various sun destinations from November to April.
